If you receive a pension from Romania but live abroad, you must periodically prove that you are alive.
What you need to know:
- the life certificate is submitted twice a year, by 31 March and by 30 September, to the pension office that pays your pension;
- if the deadline is missed, pension payment is suspended from the following month; the right to a pension is not lost, only the payment is suspended;
- the standard certificate model provided by the territorial pension office is used; bilingual models exist for several countries, including Germany, Italy, Spain, France, Hungary and the United Kingdom.
Next deadline: 31 March 2027.
Tip: the form can be downloaded from the website of the territorial pension office that manages your file. If in doubt, contact them in good time.
